Kurzweil ?!?!?
Funny name…..great software. Kurzweil software provides multi-sensory access to any text, whether it is originally in print or electronic form. The software can scan and read the text aloud to the student and provides powerful tools that enable student s to interact with and learn from the text. This allows students to learn from grade-appropriate content. And guess what? Central Community School District has it! We are very excited about this giant step forward in meeting the needs of any students who struggle with text.
Interested? The first training for Central Community School District teachers will be held on Saturday, September 20th in Central High’s library. Two time slots are offered: 8:00 or 12:00. To register, email tpealer@centralcsd.org. Be sure to indicate which time you will attend.
Kurzweil is very powerful and allows:
· Teachers to insert text and voice notes
· Read aloud tests to students who need that modification
· Students to read with more fluency and to be exposed to grade-appropriate vocabulary
· Writing support
· Electronic highlighting
Not sure if you want to attend training? Go to an online demonstration video at http://kurzweiledu.com/k3000demo/k3000demo20.html and then register for training!
