Carpool/Transportation Information

Thank you for your patience as we work through the challenges of carpool traffic. We are working with local law enforcement agencies to try to improve the flow of the high volume of cars entering the school driveways without blocking the roadways or interfering with bus traffic. Due to the large number of students that are carpooling, our driveways fill up quickly and we spill over into the roadways causing traffic issues and public safety hazards. We have had over 900 cars entering the CMS / CIS / TES campus for afternoon carpool. This caused school to be dismissed early last week. State law does not allow us to continue dismissing students early from school as the students are missing required instructional minutes. Your help is needed in the following ways:
1.       If at all possible, please allow your child to ride the bus. If you are displaced, your child may still ride the bus to their previously assigned bus stop. You can pick up your child from that location.
2.       If your home did not flood and you are not displaced, please help us by allowing your child to ride the bus. Because bus routes have been combined, many routes are much shorter than they have been in the past.
3.       Please do not continue circling in the roundabout if you are waiting for the entry time to the driveways. You may park nearby at the BREC Jackson Park or at the EBRP Library on Joor Road if you are needing a place to wait until the appropriate entry time.
Again, thank you so much for helping us during this time. We appreciate your willingness to be flexible as we work through this challenge.
