Central High Advanced Placement® Exam Scores Among Top in State

The Louisiana Department of Education released statewide comparison data for Advanced Placement® Thursday. Central Community School System ranked third in the state with 56.2% of students taking the AP® exam earning a score of 3 or higher. Students who earn a score of 3, 4, or 5 are eligible for college credit at all Louisiana higher education institutions.

Central’s percentage of students earning a 3 or higher reflects a growth of 23.5% from 2016 to 2017, which is the most of any school district in Louisiana.

AP® offers college-level curricula in 38 subject areas to high school students that culminate in a college-level AP® Exam recognized by colleges and universities across the United States. Students passing AP® courses receive additional weight in the calculation of the TOPS GPA.
