Central Coach Nicole Aucoin Earns Louisiana Middle School PE Teacher of the Year Award

Central Community School System is proud to recognize Nicole Aucoin, the recipient of the very prestigious LAHPERD Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year Award for her commitment and involvement in the field of health, physical education, sport, leisure, and dance in Louisiana. The Louisiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance awards one winner each year.

Coach Aucoin will be formally presented with the award at the LAHPERD Convention in Baton Rouge in November. As the state winner, she is eligible for the Southern District Physical Education Teacher of the Year Award.
This is Coach Aucoin’s second time to be recognized by LAHPERD. In 2008, she was named the State High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year.

Coach Aucoin has been an asset for Central Community School System since her hire in 2010. She remarked, “I am blessed to be able to do this job every day and touch young people’s lives.” While her numerous softball championships over that time period and her two-time LAHPERD Teacher of the Year honors are remarkable, the relationships she builds with her students truly sets her apart.
