Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!  The Central Community School System Child Nutrition staff is looking forward to serving your children nutritious and tasty meals that support their achievements in school and promote healthy life styles.

Our goal is to offer healthy, nutritious choices that are appetizing and available to all students.  We strive to offer meals that meet the latest federal and state regulations.  Our menus are designed to ensure that students receive a balanced meal that meets the calorie and nutrient needs established in these regulations.  We do offer popular items such as pizza, chicken nuggets, and tacos, but these items contain healthy grains, are lower in fat, and limit salt. The milk that is offered is either fat free or 1% instead of whole or reduced fat milk.

We are also pleased to inform you that all Central Community Schools will be participating in the Community Eligibility Program for 2017-2018 school year.  This means that all enrolled students will receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household.  Your child or children will be able to participate in these meals without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application.  The meal consists of the reimbursable meal.  If you child or children purchase extra items there is a charge associated with those items.

We take pride in our school meals and hope that you will encourage your children to participate in eating breakfast and lunch served in their school.

Should you have any questions regarding the Child Nutrition Program please call me at 225-650-2919.
